  3. I think that helping out at the refuge will be an interesting experience. I have worked outside before, cleaning up at nature centers, but never at something like this. It will be really cool helping the refuge out, and making it a better place. Whether we are cleaning stuff up, removing invasive species, or anything else, I know we will be making a difference.

  4. As a lover of the environment around me, I believe that cleaning and sustaining a natural wildlife refuge will be an experience that I will not forget. Preserving any and all types of ecosystems is very important to me. I'm excited to help the refugee in any way possible to make it a safer place for animals and other organisms to live and prosper.

  5. I believe that helping out at this refuge will help me and my classmates discover personal ideas or views about our community and environment. I believe that this is an awesome opportunity to help clean up our environment and bring people closer together and work as a team. Basically this will be an awesome and amazing experience for me and my classmates, and we all will hopefully learn something from this wildlife refuge experience.

  6. I think that working to help the refuge will be a great experience. I believe in helping wildlife live. I currently feed swans and ducks by my work, so helping to create a better environment for similar animals and plants will be rewarding. I think this will be a fun experience and could help with understanding some of the science I will be learning in the future.

  7. Not only is this a great opportunity to learn about the wildlife in our ecosystem/environment, but it's also a great way to help the earth that we've caused so much hurt to. It's a good way to give back for what the Earth has given us. I feel this is a necessary and important experience. I've always wanted to volunteer and help to clean up the Earth because it hurts to know that this planet is slowly dying from our own waste, and toxic properties. Not only will it be fun and exciting, but it will be a lesson to everyone to treat the Earth with respect and care, and that's important to me.

  8. I feel like i will learn a lot more about the environment and what I can do to help out, to minimize climate change. people don't really take climate change very seriously in fact, some don't even think it exist. but with the help of organizations like the DRIWR, we can help enlighten more people about the effects of climate change, and what they can do to help out the earth.

  9. I believe that working to fix the refuge will be an experience that I will never forget. As someone who loves the outdoors and nature, I understand that working to save any kind of ecosystem will give me the benefit of knowing that I'm making a difference. I've done work like this before at my high school for community service days and a biology club I was involved with. I think it's important for everyone to understand that there's multiple ways to help save the Earth, but this is just one them and that by doing this, we're learning how to treat Earth with respect and hopefully can teach others to follow.

  10. I'm very excited to go to the refuge and help out. So many cool species of birds make their homes there, and I'd love to see a bald eagle. Also, serving at the refuge will allow us all to gain a clearer understanding of the important work biologists and other scientists do. I believe that one of the best ways you can learn something is by doing it, so a service learning project like this is such an amazing opportunity. I look forward to experiencing this with our class!

  16. I think that helping out at the wild life refuge will be beneficial in many different ways, not only will it teach us about a day in the life of a environmentalist, but we get to see what we can do to help the environment in our own way. The other thing I'm looking forward to is the opportunity to study botany. I'm very excited for these next two weeks and hope to learn a lot.
